WHAT WAS SUPPLIED?

The Outdoor Gientai disaster relief stockpile is a collection of outdoor clothing and gear that come from a variety of sources. For example, factory seconds, product samples or products with cosmetic blemishes. Also, in an effort to reduce the amount of outdoor product that end up in landfills, Montbell makes every effort to salvage unused gear and clothing we receive through our warranty and repair programs and donate it to Outdoor Gientai's disaster relief stockpile.

WHAT TYPES OF PRODUCTS WERE AVAILABLE?

Based on what people told us during the last donation event, we knew there was a need for children's clothing. Especially warm, winter children's clothing. The second most common thing that we were asked about was sleeping bags. In response to these needs, Outdoor Gientai shipped 12 cartons of sleeping bags and children's clothing from the disaster relief stockpile in Japan.

WHAT TYPE OF CONDITION ARE PRODUCTS IN?

Like we explained above, we source these products from a wide range of sources. Some products were brand new. Some were returned quickly after purchasing and couldn't be resold because they were missing tags or stuff sacks. Some are from Montbell's warranty and repair program, unused products that might be missing a zipper slider, or might have a small patched hole. What matters most is that these products are still usable. These products were provided as-is and are not under warranty.

Previous Donation Event

On January 7th and 8th, 2022, Outdoor Gientai provided free donations of outdoor clothing and gear to members of the Superior and Louisville communities that were displaced by the Marshall Fire. Members of the public were able to come and pick out anything from Outdoor Gientai's disaster relief stockpile. Left over items were planned to be donated to Boulder County, but Outdoor Gientai was able to deliver everything we had in our disaster relief stockpile to members of the community. We provided insulated jackets, rain shells, baselayers, sleeping bags, shirts, backpacks, bags, etc. A large majority of the stockpile was Men’s and Women’s clothing. Outdoor Gientai was also able to distribute Montbell's Wickron Masks to those that visited.

Our heartfelt thanks to everyone that helped spread the word about these donation events!
