EX Light Down Anorak
I bought the EX Light Down Anorak this year and have loved its versatility and surprising warmth. With varying layers I have taken it comfortably from temperatures in the 50’s down into the teens. It packs down into a 7.5 X 6.25in stuff sack which makes it ideal as an extra layer in a backpack for hiking and an easy choice for travel. The Anorak is a Unisex size and at 5’3” 110lbs the size small gives me space for layering, a little extra length in the body, and is still easy to get on and off.
Permafrost Down Parka
The Permafrost is a fantastic parka that is built to take you down to extreme temperatures while remaining comfortable. Since purchasing it I have not had the opportunity to push the parkas limits but in 20 degree conditions with a t-shirt on it was overly sufficient. The Gore-Tex Windstopper and 9oz of 800 fill power down make for a superb wind barrier and incredible insulation combination. This jacket is versatile enough to go from winter alpine conditions all the way back home sitting around the fire.

This seam taped, yet breathable soft shell is at home on the slopes of your favorite resort, deep in the powder of the local backcountry bowl, or at an exposed high alpine belay station. Helmet compatible hood, adjustable cuffs and hem allow you to fine tune the fit and prevent drafts, while smartly placed pockets keep essentials close at hand. Light in weight, feature rich, and mildly stretchy the Cosmic Parka is ideal when used in a cold weather layering system and suited to surroundings that tend to be vertical nature.
The EX Light products have always epitomized our minimalist design concepts. This year we seek to transform the offering with the addition of a “puffed-up” anorak. Ultra light and space saving this garment provides the highly versatile sweater weight warmth critical to the gram conscious trail enthusiast. Mindful selection of premium materials make the EX Light Anorak a perfect replacement for heavier, bulky items that traditionally demand so much space in your pack. Outfitted with a simple Eskimo style hood and an insulated kangaroo pocket, staying comfortable in the fickle weather of the backcountry just became a little easier. Functional in its purpose, versatile in its use, and with over 35% of the garment weight being premium quality down insulation this piece is a must for any well thought out layering system!
The SPORT Series is our synthetic concept aimed at endeavors that tend to be more "fast forward" and potentially aerobic. We have integrated stretch side panels to allow for a trimmer cut, better ventilation, and greater comfort while in motion. This series is a cut above when in need of a lightweight mid-layer that delivers thermal performance in less than optimal conditions.
By adopting a classic tailor's trick and paring it with high grade materials MontBell has brought extreme comfort and thermal efficiency to the light weight backcountry enthusiast. We found that integrating a woven fabric "cut on the bias" and orienting the fabric's warp and weft threads at 45 degrees to most major seam lines the sleeping bag becomes more fluid in nature. To create an even more comfortable system we utilize an elasticized thread in the stitch to create small "gathers" in the quilting. Through the combination of strategic seam orientation and the stretch provided by gathered quilting we offer unrivaled fit and comfort. These innovations allow the sleeping bag to move with you as you change positions throughout the night, drawing the 800 fill goose down closer to your body and eliminating drafty dead spaces. Keep body heat inside your sleeping bag, where it belongs.
