The MontBell Thermawrap has performed very well so far. I was pleased with how much warmth it offered for such a light jacket and that it practically disappeared in whatever pack I was using when I didn’t need it. Most of the time it has proven to be much more practical than a heavier jacket that would have left me overheating in short order. The coldest winter weather is typically in February so I’ll probably be able to experiment with more layering as the test wraps up.

The Montbell Thermawrap Classic Jacket has served me well during this phase of testing. It is comfortable and a great insulator. It has worked well on its own and with a light windbreaker. It packs down to a small space in my pack. When unstuffed and shaken out it bounces back to shape nicely. It has handled minor wetting well, retaining its warmth and drying out quickly. I look forward to continued use as the winter progresses.

Overall, this is a stylish jacket that I've enjoyed wearing outside over the last few months. I've used it as part of an active layer as well as part of my sleep system. It provides good warmth even when slightly damp. While I didn't find it made a great pillow for me while sleeping, it is so un-restrictive, that it made a good layer to wear while sleeping.
