COVID-19 UPDATE

March 26, 2020


The world today is constantly changing. New information is coming out so fast that it is becoming more difficult to adjust to everything that is going on. The governor of Colorado recently ordered the closure of all non-critical business statewide. Although there are Montbell fans that think of us as critical, let's be honest, we aren't. Yesterday evening, we decided to temporarily shut down the ability of our website to take orders.

After reviewing the governor's executive order and the public health order a little more closely, we understand that it is possible to heavily reduce our operations to accommodate the necessity of continuing customer service operations at a bare minimum. Although we still won't be able to ship new orders or exchanges until after April 13th, our reduced operations will allow us to periodically process new orders, returns and respond to customer inquiries via email. Warranty and repair requests will not be processed until after the 13th. We feel that this is the safest option for our employees, but also enable us to somewhat remain open for business and available to our customers.

Montbell agrees with the actions being taken to stop the spread of COVID-19 and we are attempting to do our part. We thank you for your patience and understanding during these difficult times. We will keep you updated on this quickly evolving situation and look forward to reopening.

During the current outbreak of COVID-19, Montbell has been monitoring updates from state and local governments while we continue business as normally as possible. On March 16th, in order to protect the health of our employees and the local community we made the decision to temporarily close our retail locations until March 27th. At that time, we felt that the procedures we had in place would be enough to continue operations at our distribution facility. However, on March 25th, the governor of Colorado issued an order to close all non-critical businesses statewide.

As a result, we will no longer be able to continue operating our distribution facility. During this closure, our website can still be accessed but we will no longer process orders. It also means our customer service department will not be present to answer inquiries via phone or email. In addition, during this closure we will be unable to process returns or exchanges. The closure of our distribution facility in Boulder and retail location in Denver will last until April 11th and the closure of our retail location in Boulder will last until April 17th, 2020.

Montbell agrees with the actions being taken to stop the spread of COVID-19. We thank you for your patience and understanding during these difficult times. We will keep you updated on the situation and look forward to reopening.

Due to the recent outbreak of COVID-19 and announcements by the city governments of Boulder and Denver, our retail locations in Boulder and Denver will remain closed until April 10th. In addition, we have reduced the number of staff at our distribution facility. Although we are still processing and shipping orders daily, until April 10th, we will no longer be able to take customer inquiries via phone. We can still be reached via email, however, please understand that email responses may be delayed. We thank you for your patience and understanding.

We are making changes to our customer service hours. Starting March 24th, customer service will only be available by phone, Monday through Friday from 10am – 2pm MST. During this period of reduced customer service hours, we recommend emailing us as a better way to communicate. However, please note responses to emails may be delayed. Montbell Customer Service can be reached via this form. Orders will continue to be processed and shipped daily.

Due to the recent outbreak of COVID-19, we have decided to close our retail locations in Boulder and Denver until March 27th. Based on the information that is currently available, we feel this is a necessary measure to protect the health of our employees and the community.

Although we will be closing our retail locations, our distribution facility will remain open and continue to process orders placed through our website. We are confident in our ability to reduce the risk of exposure to our employees and customers.

To do so, we are implementing best practices to reduce potential exposure. This includes following recommended cleaning guidelines and asking staff that feel ill to stay home. We are continuing to monitor the information from both the CDC and local health authorities on how to proceed through the coming days.

We thank you for your patience and understanding during these difficult times. We will keep you updated on the situation and look forward to reopening our retail locations on the 28th.
