【Heather "Anish" Anderson Book Signing】
Come join us for an evening with Montbell Ambassador Heather "Anish" Anderson. Heather will be discussing her journey from hiker to author of her new book, Thirst: 2600 Miles to Home. During the evening she will be sharing stories from the PCT and readings from the book. This is a great chance to meet the author and get a signed copy of the new book.
Heather was recently chosen by National Geographic as a “2019 Adventurer of the Year.” In part due to her recent feat of becoming the first female to complete the Triple Crown in a calendar year and having hiked nearly 30,000 miles since 2003.
【Highs and Lows on the Pacific Crest Trail】
Presented by Alan Carpenter
The Pacific Crest Trail runs for 2,660 miles from Mexico to Canada through
California, Oregon, and Washington. The PCT, as it’s known, is arguably the world’s finest long-distance hiking trail. It boasts outstanding scenery, a wide variety of vegetation types, 489,000 feet of elevation gain, numerous opportunities to resupply, minimal bureaucratic regulations, and a well-designed and maintained trail tread.
Veteran long-distance hiker and cyclist Alan Carpenter will convince you that the PCT deserves its stellar reputation. He’ll entertain you with photos and stories of life on the trail. Plus, he’ll highlight three mishaps that he experienced on his PCT hike, how he recovered from them, and what he learned.
